Here's someone doing a much better job of getting out of the off-road course than I did. This slope may not look it, but it is incredibly steep and slippery. When I tried to get up it in my Land Rover we got 5 feet from the top and then suddenly the engine died. Turns out I have a faulty carb and that the float chamber is not being kept filled up properly, so I literally run out of fuel when going up a steep hill. Without the engine running I couldn't make a safe recovery by backing down the slope to the bottom in order to have another go, this meant that I had to be pulled up the remaining 5 feet by the Marshals. As the slope is so steep and muddy it took two Land Rovers belonging to the Marshal's and three attempts in order to safely pull us up the slope. Rosey and I were both very glad to make it to the top, of course when we got back on level ground the Land Rover started first time, and we headed straight off to the stalls to find a new carb! |
