Radio Control Land Rover

I recently purchased a radio control Land Rover Defender from Littlewoods Extra. It's a great toy and as you can see I have great fun driving it "Offroad" in our back garden.

It has four wheel drive and high and low ratio gears just like a real Land Rover. The high ratio gear can be used for speed, while the low ratio gear is great for getting through the rough stuff, and climbing steep slopes. It'll quite happily handle a 45 degree slope.

Other features it has are working headlights, flashing indicators, reversing lights, sound effects, and remotely opening doors. All the features including gear selection can be operated from the radio control handset.

The car come with batteries for the vehicle and the handset. The vehicle battery is a 9.6V rechargeable battery which lasts about half an hour between charges. A charger for the battery is included.

As you can see the Land Rover will handle the rough stuff with ease, this is not a pose, I drove the Land Rover up onto the rock. The only complaint is that the toy manufacturer put a rear towhitch on the model which can catch and cause the vehicle to get stuck. After looking at the towhitch, I found it may be possible to remove it.

Our garden is an offroader's delight, we may not be great gardeners, but we can sure build a miniture offroad course!

Here's a good close up of the Land Rover, you can see that there is some axle articulation on the model which helps it get over the rough stuff.
